PASW 18 (AKA SPSS) on Windows 7

PASW 18 just arrived in the office and I had just had it installed and run on Windows 7.

Ran a simple regression analysis using a sample data... seems to be running ok.

One thing I have to say is that... it is a pretty dumb idea to change from SPSS to PASW since it is much more difficult to pronounce S-P-S-S when comparing to P-A-S-W.... try it out yourself to see whether you agree or not...

  1. Hi, I installed PASW 18 on Windows 7, 64 bits but I couldn't open SPSS file later. Is your Windows 7 64 or 32 bits?

  2. Oops... sorry for the delay in replying... I was using 32 bit at the point of posting... I did not encounter any problem.. Even with this machine, running Win 7 64 bit, SPSS 18 also seem to run fairly smooth for me. Hope this helps.

  3. By the way, were you trying to open the spss file using an earlier version of SPSS or could the file have been corrupted? Otherwise, try to see whether you can find another copy of SPSS 18 to see whether it is the problem of your install... some suggestions... BTW, they changed the name back to SPSS...
